What is Anal Fistula? — Causes, Symptoms & Treatment

info

About This Treatment

An anal fistula is an abnormal tunnel connecting the inside of the anal canal to the skin near the anus. It usually develops after an anal abscess and causes persistent discharge, pain, and discomfort.

At Shraddha Hospital, we use the FiLaC (Fistula Laser Closure) technique — a revolutionary sphincter-sparing procedure that seals the fistula tract using controlled laser energy. Unlike traditional fistulotomy which cuts through sphincter muscle (risking incontinence), FiLaC preserves the muscle entirely.

The laser fiber is inserted through the external opening and advanced through the tract. As it is slowly withdrawn, it delivers 360-degree laser energy that destroys the infected lining and seals the tract from inside out.
